ABC Crafted Series Iberian Double Toasted Oak Chips contains 3.5 oz (100g) of ideally sized chips, perfect for small-batch winemaking. Adding these chips enchances the wine's organoleptic properties by transferring compounds in the aroma and flavor phase. Double toasted oak maximizes the wine’s organoleptic complexity. It creates sought-after volatile compounds, such as pyranones (caramel), 4-methylguiacol (coffee and smoke), and phenolic compounds that give the wine a pleasing licorice aroma. Ideal for use in winemaking thanks to their fine grain, high porosity, and permeability.
The oak's slow component transfer makes them well suited for medium to long treatments. Enhances aromatic complexity by infusing vanilla and spice aromas while preserving the wine's natural fruitiness due to the slow gradual transfer.
