These barrel chips are sanitized using a nitrogen purge, so they are ready for use upon opening.
The Cognac chip adds a vanilla flavour with an incredibly smooth finish to your beer. Adding 2 ounces of cognac chips to 5 gallons of beer in the second fermentation round for 5 days should bring that desired flavour if that did not produce a strong enough flavour, steep for five more days.
To keep the chips from remaining in the beer, use a muslin bag to contain them.
Store any remaining chips in a sealed container for freshness.
