Grapefruit is quite a common flavour in hop-forward beer styles such as Pale Ale, IPA, Double IPA, and Black IPA, since many modern hop varieties put a strong emphasis on the citrus part of the aroma wheel.

However, sometimes a recipe calls for an extra kick, begging a more pronounced grapefruit flavour that hops simply can’t deliver. In cases like these, it’s better to use either actual grapefruits or grapefruit flavouring.

Usage: Add 1 oz per gallon and sample, adding more until you reach the taste you want.
