Dusseldorf Alt Yeast - WLP 036

WLP036 was sourced from a brewery in the Dusseldorf region of Germany, which is notorious for its slightly malty and sweet Altbiers, compared to the cleaner and more neutral Kolsch Ales or Northern German Ales. This beer style makes a perfect session beer for the colder season, and you will certainly be surprised how bright some of the malt flavours can become with WLP036.

On the downside, WLP036 Dusseldorf Alt Yeast tends to mute the hop character of the beer – a fact that doesn’t make this strain particularly useful for making hop-forward Pale Ales and IPAs.
